General Chiang Kai Shek's cigarette case

The above 3 photos are of a cigarette case owned by General Chiang Kai Shek and given to certain soldiers and officers under his command between 1951 and 1952 (possibly earlier).

This cigarette case was accepted and donated to the Chaing Kai Shek Museum by the president of CDOT on February 24, 2003.

Accepting the donation was Mr. Matthew S. Lee, who is the Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco, California.

The accompanying plaque reads:

"United in Democracy"

"May this piece of history, being donated to the CKS Museum, Taiwan and its people serve to help all realize that Taiwan
and the US are not only brothers in heart, spirit and soul, but also recognized members of the global community."

"Ward K. Jones"

We at CDOT are completely dedicated to Taiwan, its people and to the firm belief that all members of the global community
should not only recognize but also welcome Taiwan as an important contributing member.
